'kay, I don't know how Raffi sings it, but it goes,
Fait do do, 'Colas mon petit frere
Fait do do, t'auras de lolos.
Mama est en haut, elle fait un gateau,
Papa est en bas, il fait du chocolat.
But, you can sing, "ma petite fille" or
whatever name you like. It is a folk song.
I think originally it was a baker's daughter singing
to a baker's son, 'cause the words mean,
'Go to sleep, Nicolas my little brother,
Go to sleep and you will get goodies.
Mama is upstairs, she is baking a cake.
Papa is downstairs, he is making chocolates.
