It's Bad You Know - R.L. Burnside lyrics
It's bad you know
It's bad you know
She'd asked me why
I just went on n' told her
(x 4)
The engineer blown the whistle,
The fireman he rang the bell.
(x 4)
It's bad you know
She'd asked me why
I just went on n' told her
She'd asked me why
I just went on n' told her
It's bad you know

I tend to agree with the following interpretation:
The engineer blown the whistle,
The fireman he rang the bell.

After transcribing the lyrics obviously the song is about a train accident which makes sense to me. Especially when you consider R.L. Burnside's age and his blues roots which go back almost a Century. R.I.P. R.L. burnside . . . long live the blues.
