Ups and downs, I've had plenty
Looking for love in all the wrong places
I found nothing to fill my empty spaces

I looked for mother, she wasn't there
No father around to care
Sisters and brothers, they were not around
And my friends, nowhere to be found

But when I called Jesus, He was right there
To hear my cry and answer my prayer
God is faithful and He's been better to me
Than I've been to myself

The doctor told me, 'twas nothing else he could do
Shook his head [Incomprehensible] and he left the room
Then I remembered all the words that I read
In the holy scriptures where you said

He was wounded for my transgressions, yeah
He was bruised for my iniquities
And with the stripes I'm now already healed
I fell down on my knees and I began to pray

I said, ‽Jesus”, and yeah, He was right there
He heard my cry and He answered my prayer
God is faithful and He's been better to me
Than I could be to myself, yeah

And if He said it will come to pass

If He said it, I believe it
I won't doubt it, I receive it
