As I sit here alone with my memory's, thinking back to the years long ago,
To the pines covered hils down in Georgia, and the sweet girl that I used to know,
She was young and in love with me only, I was footloose a d foolish I guess,

There's a moon shining bright in my doorstep, like the moon shining bright in her eyes,
But it's cold here in Fairbanks, Alaska, and I shiver thru the long winter nights,
Fifteen years nave slipped thru my fingers, I'm forgotten I know by this time,
But I'd walk thru the snow down to Georgia in the cold, if I thought she'd be waiting this time.
